Recognition received by the department and department faculty in the field of breast surgery and Oncology
The department is now attracting ever increasing numbers of challenging referrals of patients with benign and malignant breast conditions, though in absolute terms, the numbers are still modest. There have been invitations to the department and faculty members to participate in multi-center research projects and development of Indian breast cancer guidelines, which is a WHO and Min of Health, GOI sponsored activity.
Various faculty members have been invited and delivered talks on various breast surgery and oncology related topics in international and national conferences and meetings, including prestigious International Surgical week and the World congress of the ISS, World congress of breast diseases and others. Dr Gaurav Agarwal has gained recognition as an international guest faculty of the Breast Surgery International. He has also been elected as the Secretary of the Breast Surgery International an affiliated society of International society of surgery (ISS) with its head quarters in Switzerland.
