I have been practicing contemporary evidence-based surgical management of malignant and benign breast diseases, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, endocrine pancreas and endocrine syndromes over past 27 years. Some of areas which I have contributed to and are of particular interest include:

Breast Cancer Research: On-going studies
  • Triple negative breast cancers: cancer immunology, immune modulators, immunotherapy.
  • Global gene expression & alterations in candidate genes in Indian breast cancer patients
  • Pharmaco-genetic assessments in breast cancer and correlation with treatment outcomes.
  • Iodine metabolism and thyroid dysfunction in breast oncogenesis
  • Investigations to explore anti-proliferative effect of molecular iodine in breast cancer cell lines
  • Cellular/ molecular iodine transport mechanism (Na+/I- symporter gene) in breast oncogenesis and therapy.
  • Skeletal metabolism in breast cancer patients: prediction of skeletal metastases
  • Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) studies in malignant and benign breast tumours.

  • Evolution of Cost-effective Minimal Invasive Endocrine Surgical Procedures.
  • Intra-operative iPTH dynamics in patients undergoing surgery for hyperparathyroidism.
  • Densitometric studies by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry in patients with PHPT.
  • Post-parathyroidectomy recovery in PHPT: biochemical, radiologic, and densitometric studies.
